I hold two basic principles when it comes to working with people: we’ve all been hurt and we all seek safety. Many of us unconsciously avoid our pain and rely on old strategies to protect ourselves. At the time of their conception these adaptations were necessary. Over time, they become constraining and limit our growth.

Growth is a process of softening and listening, to feel into what’s true. Although this can be difficult, moving towards feeling and connection opens us to the present moment. Therapy is an opportunity to blossom into this fullness, which requires courage, trust, and taking risks. The reward is a life that moves towards satisfaction, love, and wholeness.

I am so small I can barely be seen.

How can this great love be inside me?

Look at your eyes. They are small,

but they see enormous things.
